You Should Know...

Composer Cliff Martinez

I have been listening to the soundtrack of the remake of 'Solaris' more and more. Cliff Martinez's ambietic contribution to the film definitely brings out the emotional content provided by director Steven Soderburg. They also collaborated on the film 'Traffic.' But where Martinez really shines is in this compostion. I found a brief montage of the film set to the score.



Also the film is pretty great as well. Below is one of many powerful scenes. The poem is written by Dylan Thomas:

And death shall have no dominion.
Though they go mad they shall be sane,
Though they sink through the sea they shall rise again;
Though lovers be lost love shall not;
And death shall have no dominion.



As a side note. My current project is a rather techy one. I am constantly being inspired by what Martinez has done. As a result, my project will be better. What more can you ask for?
