New Work...
The United Way 'Great Tomorrow's Start Today'
I created the concept of multiple people telling their unique stories all at once. The goal was to tell the larger story of the difference The United Way makes in peoples lives. The result is what you see above.
The work was created by shooting talking head interviews on a green-screen sound stage with a Canon c300. The rest was created in post using Nuke as my main compositing app and 3ds max/vray as my full 3d system.
Original Score by Stephen Benitez.
I created the HDR as a cheat for lighting and background plates. Worked well and saved a lot of time. Ultimately this is one of those projects that you look at and realize what another week of post production could have given you.

New Work...
Stinger
Stinger was a project I directed and animated in April of 2012. My list of tasks included branding this creative social media service that acts as a sort of video twitter. The environment design was done in 3ds Max and included a full 30 square blocks of city. The compositing was completed in Nuke. Check out the making of below as well as some high res frames.

Andrew Stanton's TED Talk
Andrew Stanton, of legendary Pixar fame, recently spoke at TED about story. The result is definitely worth your time. Say what you will about John Carter, it was doomed from the beginning, but I believe Andrew is one of the good guys. One of my favorite ideas touched on is the idea of Storytelling as the art of subtraction. This is a rule that all good directors know. View it here.
